Senior Exit Survey Class of 2023 - opens May 2023

Capstone

The Senior Capstone is a 20-30 minute presentation to a panel that includes: an overview of the independent research project, a reflection on the student’s service-learning experience, and a review of the Individualized Career and Academic Portfolio (ICAP).

Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAP)

Since beginning high school, Mapleton students have been encouraged to develop a personalized post-secondary plan that prepares them for success after graduation. Throughout high school, ICAP activities were designed to assist students in exploring post-secondary career and educational opportunities. While working on their ICAP, students had the opportunity to develop an understanding of graduation requirements, identify and plan for future goals, apply to post-secondary education institutions, complete steps for financial aid, and/or build have a plan for entering the workforce.

Volunteer Hours and Graduation

All students who graduate from Mapleton Public Schools are required to complete 40 hours of volunteer service.  The purpose of these volunteer hours is to ensure that Mapleton Students contribute to their community in a meaningful way through experiences that

  • Develop empathy and foster a sense of citizenship
  • Help students gain a sense of pride and ownership of their community
  • Give students the opportunity to give back to the community they are part of
